This is one of mainland China's most popular travel destinations. It is renowned for beautiful sunrises, romantic fog, and a breathtaking countryside. It is pretty natural, but full of people, of course, especially during the months between April and October.

Mass tourism is a rather new industry, in China. But it was already popular in the early 1990s, especially among the young. To be on a train in China for hours or days isn't fun. But many of the destinations are really worth the trouble.
